Vladimir Putin Supporters Expected to Win Elections in War-Torn Regions of Russia

According to early vote counts that took place in Russia on Sunday, loyalists of Vladimir Putin and the war in Ukraine is set to win governor elections across Russia.

Kursk Vote Counts

Some of the Ukrainian forces have taken control over towns and territories in this region; however the vote counts will also be including Kursk. The local and regional elections that were happening across Russia came to a close on Sunday evening.

A High Preference for Candidates Backed by the Kremlin

There was an expectation that voters will be backing and supporting candidates backed by the Kremlin in 21 governor elections. This also includes legislative assembly members in 13 regions and city council officers throughout Russia.
