The long standing Congressman Joe Wilson South Carolina was suddenly taken to hospital on Tuesday night (10th September). He have collapsed during an event in Washington to which he had to be rushed.

After falling ill and collapsing, he was rushed to a nearby local hospital to be evaluated in Washington D.C. His son is the Attorney General in South Carolina and he later posted on the Congressman’s behalf. He stated that he is receiving treatment. He stated that “Doctors have confirmed to us that he experienced stroke-like symptoms.”
His son stated that the Congressman was able to speak with him briefly on the phone. And expressed that he is stable and medical doctors are monitoring his progress to recovery.
Later in the day Congressman Joe Wilson South Carolina told reporters that he has just returned from whirlwind official travel to the Philippines, Australia and Europe. He also said that he met the Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg of NATO prior to returning home to South Carolina.
Before Wilson fell sick, he was sitting in the front row celebrating the independence of Ukraine at Ukraine House in Washington’s diplomatic enclave. The Ukraine ambassador was delivering her speech when she had to stop and request for a doctor.
