Diddy known as Sean Combs was arrested on Monday in the lobby of a hotel in Manhattan New York. The arrest resulted from on-going federal investigations on multiple crimes and offences he is suspected to have been a part of.
Homeland Security Investigations over Trafficking and Sexual Assault
During a raid in March his home his home in Los Angeles was raided according to Local Los Angeles News station Fox 11. This searched was carried out due to reports form Rolling Stone, NBC News and Associated Press.
These searches took place as a result of an on-going sex trafficking investigation taking place in New York. The investigators have taken several people for interviewing pertaining to sex trafficking, sexual assault among other alleged offences.
Diddy Lawyers Comes to His Defence
The attorney, Marc Agnifilo representing Diddy stated, “He is an imperfect person but Is not criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts.”
He also went on to express his disappointment over the unjust prosecution of Diddy by the U.S attorney generals department. He stated, “These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.’’
The on-going investigations are looking into people with possible links to committing offences. These offences include sex trafficking, illegal narcotic trading, sexual offences and illegal firearms.
Amongst the investigations, the former girlfriend of Diddy, Ventura has come forward accusing him of many crimes. Such as, rape, sex trafficking and physical abuse amidst a settled lawsuit among them.
