On Thursday an Israeli citizen was arrested on suspicious grounds of allegedly plotting to assassinate Benjamin Netanyahu. This assassination plot is known to be backed by Iranian forces.

Who is the Israeli Man Arrested?

Some statements revealed the man to be a businessman having ties with Turkey. He has attended two meetings thus far to Iran. And he has engaged in discussions to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu according to the Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency.

Last week Shin Bet there was also a plot to assassinate a former Israeli senior defence official. This information was received when Hezbollah was hit by a pagers attack. The attack killed over 20 people leaving over thousands of people injured and bleeding.

Although direct comments pertaining to the attack has not been made by Israel, multiple agencies report Israel’s agency Mossad carried out the attacks.

According to intelligence received by Shia Bet, Iran has been making multiple attempts at recruiting Israeli’s in order to gain information. These have to do with carrying out terrorist mission in Israel through the use of individuals who have committed criminal offences in the past.

Iran’s alleged Plans against Israel

The businessman has been identified as Adi and was not able to leave Iran. However, he was smuggled into Iran from Turkey. This is where it I said that Adi met with others including a Iranian security official.

There were proposed tasks waiting to be carried out such as laundering money, guns, and photographing crowded places. Reports also state that Adi smuggled a truck from Iran to Israel on his second visit during August. The second visit also consisted of discussion to assassinate Benjamin Netanyahu for a payment of US$1 million.
